Healing Process

Redness and mild swelling are common and will resolve over time. Bruising may occur but will fade. If a blister forms, don’t pop it—use Polysporin to help prevent infection.

Skincare

Avoid irritants like Retin-A, Retinoids, Benzoyl Peroxide, Glycolic/Salicylic Acids, and vitamin C for 24 hours. Use a gentle moisturizer if dryness occurs.

Body Temperature

Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and intense exercise for 24 hours to prevent sweating.

Sun Exposure

Stay out of the sun and tanning beds for two weeks. Apply SPF 40+ daily.

Between Treatments

Avoid waxing or plucking hair between sessions. Shaving is okay, but try to limit it.

Scheduling Sessions

Schedule appointments every six weeks for best results. Six to ten sessions are typically needed, with maintenance every six months.

Stop dermaplaning and using face exfoliants like glycolic/salicylic acids or retinol five days before your session. Be sure to disclose any medications or conditions that may cause photosensitivity or affect wound healing or coagulation. Avoid plucking, waxing, threading, or electrolysis for six weeks before your treatment. Inform your provider if you’ve taken Accutane in the past six months or are using new medications. Schedule any injectables after your laser session and avoid other facial treatments on the same day. Finally, make sure to stay hydrated and eat a meal before your appointment.

How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?

Typically, a minimum of six sessions per area is required, but 6-10 sessions are common depending on hair amount. Initial treatments often involve 3-6 sessions, while maintenance treatments can be purchased individually or in packages.
